On February 1, 1999, I was diagnosed with cancer. On February 5, 1999, I was operated on. Throughout March of 1999, I endured seventeen radiation treatments. These are some of the emotions of that period. Oh, 5 1/2 years cancer-free now!

Scared
Frightened
What can I do?
Hurting
Angry
For fighting anew.
Nervous
Anxious
Blood gone askew.
Conflicted
Confused
Can I see this thing through?
Determined
Impassioned
For the battle to brew.
Fiery
Unyielding
Success I am due.
Healthy
No cancer
To that day I am true.
Hoping
Loving
Two traits as my glue.
