Poem: A Cinquain

Because I had never heard of cinquains until someone came across my site with that word in their Google search, I thought I should write one.

A Cinquain

Asking
What road
To walk along
With hopes of finding
Sanctuary

This is very nice. I have never explored this form. You did a good job of expressing the emotion of yearning for sanctuary.

I thought the form was 2,4,6,8,2 but I may be mistaken.

cinquain or not it is a good poem.

Thank you on the poem.

Mandy: When I originally got hit with the search for cinquains, I researched and came up with two forms.

1. One word, Two words, Three words, Four words, and One word.
2. A noun, Two adjectives, Three -ing words, A phrase, Another word for the noun.

This poem is the first and I will be posting another using the second in due course.

I think I only worked with this form once, but you did a great job.
I think sanctuary is one of what we all search for in life.

Nicely done! I'm glad this never came up on a trivia test, since I probably would have guessed that a cinquain was a tasty baked treat.

Imagine my surprise when someone searched for it. The funny thing is that I am finding a lot of people searching for cinquains. Who knew?!
