Barack Obama for President.

Because we need hope, new ways and new ideas. Because we need less divisiveness and dirt. Because we need someone with the promise of JFK. Because the other party offers nothing but small-minded frauds, belligerence and fear. Because it is not that American is ready for a black president, but that Americans demand a leader.

Barack Obama for President.

If I were an American, I would be voting for Barack Obama. That's a nice poster.

Yes, I liked it when I saw it, so I swiped it!! I like Clinton, too, but Obama is simply ... different. If I were a Chicagoan, I'd vote twice for him.

If they took a poll around the world, I wonder how many people would say they were just glad to see the back of George W. Bush?

That partly explains why Bush has been a complete failure; all goodwill for the United States worldwide is gone.

I do not like Clinton at all and will not vote for her, but I could see myself voting for Barack. If for no other reason then I love to hear him talk. He makes me want to get up and go change something when he talks.

Have you seen this video Yes We Can

I like Clinton, but don't think she is someone who can rise above. Interpret that as you will. I also don't like the dirty stuff her campaign has done. Obama honestly strikes me as being Kennedyesque. He might disappoint, but he might NOT, and that, for me, is the only hope to change the direction of this country for the better. I voted for him with a great deal of pride.

I hope voters will eschew the labels of the polling pundits--female, black,Christian, etc. You've begun a conversation on your blog that gets at that idea, whatever way each of us votes.

I find this election exhilarating for what it, perhaps, represents: Americans voting on merit, realistic hope, leadership, and seeing beyond what hasn't worked. The enthusiasm of the young people I have seen on TV and the numbers of voters thrills me.

Very inspiring. Your words give me shivers. Please, please vote in Novemeber. I still ache over the people in Florida and Ohio who couldn't be bothered in the last two elections and have placed us in this position.

Anyway, here's to hope. May 2009 be the start of change.

I came to visit you from Poets Who Blog, and love your site. Also an Obama supporter from the beginning.

Sara: If I could vote twice for Obama, I would .... oops, sorry that would be very Rovian of me. You are correct in pointing out Florida and Ohio, but I disagree on part of what you say. I don't think people failed to vote so much as votes were suppressed or cheated. Florida in 2000 was obvious and we all know Gore won the state going away. In Ohio, I recall long lines of people on the news, yet somehow Bush won by 140,000 or so. Where did those folks go? I don't think the young people and blacks were voting Bush, and we all have heard about Diebold, so there you have it.

Deborah: Thank you so much for stopping by, too, and go Obama!!!
